As the world around us lies in increasing darkness. With economies crashing, kingdoms rising against kingdom, wars & rumors of wars. For God’s people…
“…God will rise on [us], His sunrise glory [will] break over [us]…” – Is 60:2b
This glory of God is what Marturias is about. The word Marturias comes from the greek marturia which means:
One who remembers and can therein testify on their own authority
After Jesus’ resurrection, before ascending to the Father, He commanded his disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father.
His final words were:
“… you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” -Acts 1:8
These words were spoken to his disciples but they extend down through time to us this very day…
After the Holy Spirit had come upon the disciples they all spoke in new tongues and God’s power was openly displayed to such an extent that it was impossible for anyone to deny that God was with these men and women.
The signs that God performed, pointed to the wonder of His Son, Jesus Christ. The boldness of believers in telling the world about the One who had Conquered death would many times end in their death. And thus the word Martyr became associated with the early christians
To this day Jesus continues to work across the planet through His Body. Jesus is the corporate head and every true believer is literally a part of Christ. His flesh and bones.
Marturias is about recording what God has done and continues to do in the earth. Our goal is to build a web platform that will be the largest repository for personal, corporate and global works of God. One central location where you will always be able to find good news and feed your heart on God’s faithfulness.
The Lord Jesus said that the world would recognize we are christian by the Love we show towards one another. The most fundamental way of showing that Love is through Holy Spirit empowered & faith filled prayers. Marturias is a website that enables this meaningfully.
Throughout the Scriptures believers are exhorted to “remember” the works of God. It is only when we forget His works that we, as Israel of old, lose sight of Him. This network is an effort to make God big in our minds.
Christ is the same, yesterday, today, forever. So we must remember to continually see Him this way.
